Same But Different is an international Hip Hop dance platform with editions in Rotterdam, Stockholm, and London. SBD is known for its battle format that centres cyphers, celebrating the raw exchange, individuality, and authenticity of Hip Hop dance culture. This time, we celebrate another edition as part of the ADE programme.

This edition is dedicated entirely to Hip Hop, combining a dance battle with a national and international line-up and a panel talk on decolonisation in the street dance community, presented in collaboration with Hiphophuis and Roots of the Fruits.

The talk is for everyone connected to Black Dance culture — from dancers and educators to those working in art institutions, theatres, and festivals. It’s a space to explore positioning, the roles we each play, and how we can collectively build a healthy cultural ecosystem.

Our aim is to preserve the roots of the culture, strengthen community bonds, and inspire action to ensure its future. We wish to welcome you at Same but Different!
